Hannah expresses thanks for the precious gifts that have allowed her to attend school

A Huge “Thank You!” to All

 Dear Friends,

First off, a huge “Thank You!” to each of you who helped make it possible for all of our students – many of whom lost one or both of their parents at an early age – to continue their education this past winter.

I trust you know already that your making possible a high quality education for our young people does more than provide them with a degree. It grows their confidence, self esteem and commitment to serving their communities.

One of our students, Annah

As one of our students, Annah – pictured here   – put it in this excerpt from her Thank You letter to GVCP donors  “… One of the most significant changes I have felt is my confidence and self esteem. As I have achieved academic milestones and received positive feedback from teachers and my peers, I have started to believe in my abilities and I feel more empowered to take on life, with its challenges.

As their winter academic term is ending now, we are coming to you once again to ask for your continued – or first time – financial support. The two Word Docs attached above will tell you about our first ever plan to hold a spring time “Walkathon Fundraiser” – our strategy for how to raise the $18,200 needed to keep all 14 of our young people in school for the coming academic term – their pathway to adult independence with meaningful careers.

I do hope to hear from you that you plan to attend our event as either a “Donor” or a “Sponsor”.  To learn more about this event see: Our First Ever “Annual Spring Walk-A-Thon”

If you cannot join us in Newton MA, we invite you to map out your very own “Spring Walkathon” route wherever you live, gather supporters for your fund raising hike from your family, friends and neighbors, and then let us know how your personal Walkathon for our students evolved.

I hope you have enjoyed this brief tour of our project. If you would like to know more about our work be sure sign up for our occasional newsletter .

I would be happy to talk with you personally about our project and trust you will find I can be easily reached by email –  or by phone at my counseling office. If you would like to know more about us, or may have an interest in volunteering (we need many kinds of skills to expand our efforts) or are considering donating to help our young people continue on their paths to adult independence, I would love to chat with you.
