Net proceeds from our first ever GVCP ”Walkathon” event have now reached $19,200 – with a couple of pledges still on their way to us! This means that not only can our young students rest assured they will be returning to their studies after spring break, but also that – as we await harvest of our spring crops - short term food insecurity fears can be set aside for now.
Nearly 20 years ago I attended a local conference on the impact of the AIDS pandemic in Africa. Anne Muyanga, who later become my dear friend and colleague, was a presenter at that program. She told a story that touched, and soon won, my heart.
On Saturday, May 17th, at 12:00 noon, (Rain Date Sunday, 5/18, same time) the Global Village Children’s Project is inviting you to take a hike with us from the Parish of St Paul - in Newton Highlands, at 1135 Walnut Street – to nearby Cold Springs Park.
