Meet Our Family
At home in Wanyange, GVCP founder Anne Muyanga brings her guiding hand to seven of the fourteen children and young people who we currently care for at her home. Meanwhile seven other kids in our care live nearby in GVCP supported family settings.
The GVCP provides tuition, uniforms and scholastic materials for all of the children in our program. Additionally, on-campus room and board is currently provided for our four university level students.
Our GVCP team’s vision is that these photos, and what we have written about each of our students, will not only give you glimpses into their lives but also will inspire you to choose a particular student for whom you will want to fund raise – or to contribute to – in order to make possible their continuing education in this upcoming school term.
Using one of the computers purchased with donor funding, Josh prepares for tomorrow’s school classes. Josh’s mother died when he was a year and a half old. When he was three and a half years old, as his elderly grand parents could no longer meet his needs, he was welcomed into our GVCP family.
Teaching our young people how to effectively care for their environment - and their community - are also core elements of our GVCP philosophy. With their barrel full of tree saplings, here is our gang engaging in one such community service project - a local effort in Wanyange to reforest the urban landscape.
